activities in the Country

EXCAVATIONS
Over the years we have undertaken a considerable number of excavations in the Medway towns as well as in the surounding country side. Back to top
FIELD WALKING
We undertake field walking in the country side adjacent to the Medway towns in order to locate sites of interest. These may be Prehistoric , Roman, Saxon or Medieval.

All sites visited are either on Public land or, if Private land, with the permission of the Owner/Landlord. Back to top
BUILDING RECORDING
There are many buildings in the villages surounding the Medway towns that have features worthy of recording.

Many of these building are the subject of "modernisation" which can result in architectural and historical features being lost.

The detailed recording of as many features of these buildings as possible will result in valuable data on indigenous buildings being available to future to future generations. Back to top
WATCHING BRIEF
The LMARG undertake observation of construction activities where Archaeological sites or artifacts could be in danger.

These sites can be new or replacement buildings, modifications or additions to existing buildings, trenching for pipe lines and the construction or widening of roads.

Once again permission from the site owner/manager is allways obtained. Back to top
